My diligence has worn thin. I've found it tough lately to force myself to do things...yes even the things that I know bring me the utmost satisfaction. Like Blogging...in particular my Thankful Thursday post. I've been telling myself that I'm "letting myself off the hook." But I read a blog that talks about how not letting yourself off the hook is actually more ap to lead you to happiness than letting yourself off the hook. If I know that I could do the dishes Thursday night... or wait and wake up to a pile of dishes on Friday morning, I'm more likely to decide to do it on Thursday night rather than let myself off the hook and do it on Friday...b/c it invariably starts my Friday off on the wrong foot! Not a good way to kick off a weekend right?
So anyway...my whole point is this...Thankful Thursdays were/are a great way for me to keep track of what was good and blessed about my life. And I quit the last few weeks...and I have to admit, I've noticed less goodness and blessedness around me simply for the fact that I'm not keeping track. So in this case...letting myself off the hook didn't bring me any happiness. If anything it brought me less! That being said, here is this week's Thankful Thursday...and to not having another week where I don't keep track! Regardless of what the week brings.
