Gulf Shores Welcomes you!

As mentioned previously, this lucky lady had the privilege of taking a beach vacation with this handsome guy:

The following few posts will wrap it up as concisely (bwha ha ha ha...like I'm concise!) as I possibly can.

Amazing...about sums it up.

Concise enough?  Nah.

Enjoy the details and some pics. I know we certainly did!

We started each day of our trip with a rough idea of what we wanted to do...and the rest of the time was spent navigating through the adventure unplanned.  And an adventure was most definitely had!!

Let's see..I left off on Day 2 right around here

Day 2 we took leave of our Pensacola Beach destination and headed out to the Gulf Shores area. We took our time sleeping in a little, eating breakfast and walking the beach.  After our beach walk and quick showers we took off towards our first stop of the day.  The Naval Aviation Museum.  If you haven't been before, and you are in the area for any reason...make time to stop.  The displays are amazing...and so interesting to look at.  Reading all the information, one could get lost for 2 or more days. We even tried 3 D simulator which made me contemplate barfing up my lunch on the spot!!

After our legs got tired...we drove to the cemetary on the base there.  It nearly stopped my heart with an eeriely sad, yet full heart of thankfulness and appreciation for every life that was given in the name of our freedom...

Then we headed for our next stop.  Gulf Shores.  Our home for 3 gloriously low key and relaxing days!!

That evening we found ourselves at a local place called the Original Oyster House.  Fried green tomatoes, stuffed shrimp and a sweet julep drink with southern comfort warmed me right up.  After a stroll through a place called Bruno's for groceries...we headed back to our beach house.

What we found out about where we chose to book our beach house was that it was WAY on one of end of the Gulf Shores area.  And we were pretty much on our own.  It was dark and about 18  miles from the closest gas station and honest to goodness grocery store.  That first night driving back to our place in the dark...our only beacon of hope was a wooden trash can bin that held a single red reflector and welcomed us to our gravel drive!!

That night we snacked on junk food and watched a movie.  Ahh perfect ending to a long and full day of adventuring.

Day 3 coming up in another post!!
