These Be Kool kids patches really helped Owen get a break from his fever! This flu was no joke!! The fever was never super high…but when it hit he was down and out with chills. His throat also swelled up and I worried he had strep on top of that. He had trouble breathing one night from the swelling so we ended up taking him to children's. Having sick kids is so darn worrisome!! Thankfully they think he caught a strep-like, but not strep virus on top of the flu. So it was just a double-whammy…making it worse on both counts.
Coop started Rookie Baseball. I was excited because Peyton joined in the fun too!! We also ran into some friends from preschool too…UABC summer reunion.
I love this kid!
More Rookie ball. Cooper spent the better part of this one saying he didn't want to play. And then decided he did. He also did this with his first game. He told me he didn't want anyone to laugh at him…and I am still shocked that he had a streak of shyness hit him like that! He eventually got with the program! Though I'm not sure baseball is his thing.
This kid loves to eat. And he makes no qualms about it. In fact he steals the container of Cheetos when I'm not looking.
One evening Grandma Stacey asked us if we wanted to do relay for life and walk on the team with her bank…we made t-shirts and walked in Mike's honor. With Owen still down with the flu me, Coop and Greyson took off to join her and Aunt Jackie and Ryder. There was lots of fun booths and things for the kids to look at. Even little freebies and give-aways. We walked around the fun, walked the track for Grandpa Mike and had a really fun night!
It was HOT though!
A little smile!
They put together luminaries in memory of loved ones who passed from cancer. Mike's was there and I also bought one for Pap.
After a very long 9 days plus a few for good measure…we FINALLY got to get out and enjoy some summertime normalcy. I asked the boys what they wanted to do…and we hit the park. Not pictured Aunt April, Isabel and Landon joined us and after a picnic lunch we took off for our house to hop in the sprinkler! Ahh hello summertime!!! You are officially here!
Sometimes it's hard being a little brother.
Since the updates and new appliances in our kitchen we moved our other fridge to the garage. Boy do I love having it. Large families honestly require some sort of way to store overflow! I was finding I was at the store constantly because I had no where to keep extra stuff or even just drinks! One of the best things we've done in a long time is get ourselves setup with a second fridge!!
Why I don't mind if I do!!
After a fun day swimming…we came home with some sunburns!
Three boys in a tub….
Rub a dub dub!
We went over to Mom's and had lunch with Miss Reagan! Little cutie!
The boys love their cousin!!
Someone got ahold of their brothers milk cup…the kind that aren't spill proof. What a mess!!
Cooper's Rookie baseball came to a close with one final game. We had an amazing cheering section for him and I swear this was the best he played and most fun he had the whole time!!
Cooper's certificate was forgotten in the printing and then we took off with the wrong name on the one they did have. That being said…we're keeping it for good measure as I feel like it's a good reminder that it doesn't always go just as planned and we can roll with things and even laugh about them!! He said several times…I am Cooper Winley…not Cooper KANE.
After the game we headed to Tropical Sno.
The big boys headed to spend the night with Grandma and Grandpa and we took off on a little adventure. We did a little shopping at the Chesterfield outlet malls, then came home and grabbed a bite at Bluff City Grill.
This kid is a hoot!
Greyson woke up the next day to a fever…which was a bummer!
After picking up the big boys…they were given money to pick new toys at the store. So we stopped at Walmart.
Poor baby with a fever!
A play date with Peyton and Case Austin! We swam, then the kids asked to eat dinner and watch TV. They were still not ready to go even WAY past bedtime. A blast of a playdate!!
Feeling better!!
My Wendy's lunch date while the older two played at Grandmas!
After a run to Sams and Walmart in the same day! I had a lot of groceries to put away!
Rain rain go away!! So much rain at the beginning of the summer!
Truth!
These three. <3 p="">3>
Happy Father's Day Grandpa Mike. We miss you!
A little swimming action…with a snack break for some Cheezits of course!!
After the flu hit the house, we missed several swim lessons. So I called and they were gracious enough to allow us to use our credit toward the next session. The boys rocked this and it was sure a fun event to fill up our summer evenings! Owen moved up to the next level and even learned the beginning lessons of diving. Such a big boy!!
Coop was still sure he'd sink…but after several sessions he finally got excited to go and loved jumping in! It just took a little encouraging…story of this little guy's life!
After one of their lessons we took off for Tropical Sno…just the 3 of us.
Daddy started a new tradition of taking a week off in the summer to hang around home and play with us while school is out. We cherish this week like our favorite gifts at Christmas because Daddy hasn't had a lot of time off lately! We tried to make the most of the week and kicked it off with a trip to the zoo. This time we went back with Grandma, Grandpa, Daddy, Uncle Josh, Aunt Katie and Reagan. Such a FUN day!!!
Checking out the tortoises...
Children's Zoo…the boys…and Grandpa LOVE brushing the goats!!
Lunchtime!
Goofball.
On the train :)
These memories are so special to me!
Someone is fighting a nap…saddest little sleepy face.
Popsicle break. Did I mention it was HOT? The day started out so pretty…but boy did it get warm!
Nap time!
After the zoo we headed for a dinner break at Fitz's bottling company.
It was chaos start to finish…but we had a wonderful time and a wonderful day! Can't wait till our next zoo excursion!
Also on our stay cation with Daddy we wanted to take the boys to see Inside Out. So we made a fun stop to Edison's for some arcade time and dinner before the show.
Waiting for the movie to start…snacks and all! Everyone had fun and enjoyed the movie. It was really cute but definitely had a serious undertone meant to make an impact on adults! I'd be lying if I said I didn't tear up a several times!
We also got up early one day and got a good start to a day of errands. Donuts were first on our list! Daddy (and Owen also) hardly ever get to go to the donut shop with us…so this trip was extra special!
One evening we got the chance to take in Uncle Doug playing on the drums!! So fun watching him! We had a few beers, ordered in Imo's and hung out with family for a whole evening with amazing music. He blew me a kiss from his drum set as we left to relieve our sitter. Love you Uncle Doug!
While Daddy played golf with Aunt Jackie, we hung out with Ryder for a few hours! Aunt April met back up with us and we had a house full of crazy kiddos while they finished up golfing!!
On a date night…we finally got a chance to try Elijah P's. A new burger place in town. It lived up to the hype and we have been back several times since. I was excited to discover this favorite blueberry beer on tap!
We followed up dinner with a 3D viewing of Jurassic World. I loved it! Nothing like jumping out of your seat to cap off a fun date night!!
Back on the home front we did some serious dressing up...
And took in big brother's swim lessons.
Where we dropped a shoe in the toilet. For real. Thankfully it was a clean toilet.
And June came to a close!! Next up is July…the summer fun rolls on!!
