28 Week Checkup!!

Yes sir...that's right!  Week 28.  I will officially be 28 weeks tomorrow.  But for all intents and purposes, yesterday was my 28 Week Checkup!!  What did this appointment include?  Well, it started off with a glucose test...which means I have to drink glucola (with Owen I had orange, this time I drank a cherry flavored one. I personally think it tasted like chewing on a cherry popsicle stick which honestly was kinda gross) Anyway, you have to drink the glucola in a few minutes and then wait an hour!  Dr. Talsky was running late from a c-section that morning, so an hour later I was sitting in an exam room waiting on him. The lab called over and had the office send me back to draw my blood.  Regardless, I got that taken care of and not long after I got back to the room to continue waiting, we got down to the business of my appointment.

I was told that I am doing wonderfully!  My weight is on target.  My blood pressure is good. Baby Boy's heart-rate was fluctuating between 140 and 150.  I am also measuring about a week or so ahead of the game, but Dr. Talsky said that was due to us having another big baby!  The crazy part is I go back June 3rd.  He wanted to see me in 3 weeks instead of 4.  That simply means we are getting very close!

By the next time we go, I'll be nearing 31 weeks and I'm hoping we get to do a 3D ultrasound and also schedule our c-section date...better known as Baby Boy's birthdate!!

Speaking of getting close, we currently have a few things cooking around the house to get ready for his arrival!  Owen's room is "under construction" as we have had his twin bunk beds delivered. We have bedding picked out online and need to place our order and get to painting and making changes! I'm really excited to share our theme and before and after photos once it's all finished up!  We also have some plans in the works for a fun play area in our loft upstairs.  I'm seeing chalkboard/magnet paint on our TV cabinet, big colorful floor pillows, a kids table and chairs, some low level shelving for toys and some other fun touches.  We have a lot of work ahead of ourselves, but I also think we have a lot of fun ahead of us as well!!

One of my other goals before Baby Boy comes is to do some freezer meals. I'm hoping to utilize Owen's  nap time on some Fridays in June/July to bake us up a couple lasagnas and few other things that freeze up well.  I think this will help us keep our dinners in order while we're figuring out how to be parents to a 2 and a half year old and a newborn baby!!

Stay tuned for MUCH overdue belly shots coming soon. I'm also going to reveal our name choice for little mister, and a few more updates on what we've got cooking around Casa de Linley :)
