The Friday after bringing Owen home, we had our first doctor's appointment and our first family outting! Jer and I got Owen all decked out and headed for Alton Memorial. Owen got a great report! Owen is in the top percentile in weight and length. He weighed a whopping 8lbs and 15oz. Because he had gained weight since coming home from the hospital, Dr. Hill told us she just needed to see him at one month! Some babies have to go weekly until they reach their birth weight...so this was great news! Yay Owen! The office is so amazing. Every thing from the waiting areas to the exam rooms are full of bright and colorful things to look at. Owen seemed to enjoy his time there. Here are some pics of our handsome little man waiting for Dr. Hill to examine him!
After our appointment, we took Owen to visit Grandma at Grandma's work. He was quite the hit with all the ladies ;) Once we finished visiting there, we had lunch at the wine shop down the road from our house! Jer and I enjoyed an amazing lunch of delicious filet for me and tilapia over rice for him. We browsed the wine shop and talked to the owners about Owen! After our lunch I begged Jer to take me anywhere but home...I had serious cabin fever from my hospital stay and all the activity restrictions...I needed some fresh air! So we took Owen on his first of many relaxing car rides through country roads near our house. He slept peacefully while Jer and I relived the past few weeks and all the new things happening in our life. It was a great day!
