A little more fun on our last week of summer…we took Grandma and Grandpa to see the zoo. The boys loved showing them our favorite stops and all the fun!
The petting area in the Children's zoo.
A carousel ride!
Watching the Sea Lions in the tunnel...
Popsicles.
Just walking.
Love this.
Elephants!
The boys weren't quite exhausted from the zoo…and asked to play in Grandma and Grandpa's back yard. This worm probably wishes we would have gone home!
We continued the fun with a Raging Rivers trip with Missy, Miriam and Thomas!
As we headed to Owen's first day of school, I did a check of our summer bucket list…I was pretty darn stoked at our progress. We had a few items that we didn't get to…and I moved them off onto a fall bucket list.
I honestly don't know why I have this…but my memory seems to recall me sending a photo of it to Steff. We message each other random stuff like that. Why? Because we're cool like that!
The hubs and I took off to see a movie at the dine-in theater. It was fun because I was with this guy:
My Dad grew stuffing peppers this summer. This is what I did with them:
He also grows zucchini the size of your head…I accidentally found a really healthy whole wheat recipe that calls for applesauce instead of oil that everyone fell in love with and is absolutely delicious! It's a summer tradition!
Yes that is all 3 kids in one tub. I am brave or stupid. Still not sure which but this happens on the regular around here.
One of my days began with these yahoos in the cookie jar before 8am. I'm pretty sure we lost two packs of Oreos that day. And it's August…and HOT. Owen dressed himself in sweats. And Cooper had no interest in clothes. Insert heavy sigh and an eye roll. The day didn't end much better than it started…sometimes…that's just life with my 3 kiddos. Cray cray.
Poor buddy had an ear infection. In the summer. They have plagued his first little year of life!
Snuggles make everything a little better! And I guess I know why Owen was in a sweatshirt. Insert heavy sigh and eye roll…at myself.
Not right I tell you. Not right!
Ready for his first day of school...
Taking a minute to take a picture or two before we left:
No problem says Coop. I'm a great photo bomber!
Sitting in his row waiting to head to class!
His locker!
Coop and I consoled ourselves with a trip to the donut shop.
My best friend consoled me with these:
Right about the time I started thinking "I should probably start making the boys lunch…" and my heart sank because I realized Owen was not having lunch with us anymore. I heard a knock on the door. She's the best!
And that wraps up August!! We busied ourselves attempting to learn a new routine. And prep Cooper for his first days of preschool. Because I'm doing this in a reflection sort of mode, I can't believe how long ago this feels. This school year has changed all of us. Owen looks like a baby on that first day compared to now. And Cooper hated being left at school…and loves it now. Greyson is walking and off bottles and in a big boy carseat. Time sure does fly!!
